Medicity Clinic

Up here in Watakala, Budgam, things are a bit different. Our clinic is right in the Watakala main bazar. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows their neighbors. When the winter comes, the bazar gets a bit quieter, but we stay open and keep the heaters going as best as we can. The main bazar is where all the action is, so we hear the shopkeepers opening up their stalls every morning. The road outside can get a bit muddy when the snow melts or when it rains, but people still make their way to us. We’ve got a small space here, nothing too grand. It’s mostly just a few rooms and a place for people to sit while they wait. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, but we do what we can with what we have. Most of the people who come in are from the surrounding hills and the town itself. You can see the mountains from the window on a clear day, which is nice when things get stressful. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and talking with the people who drop by, even if they aren’t there for a checkup. It’s just the way things are in Jammu and Kashmir. We don’t use a lot of big words or have a complicated way of doing things. We just stay here in the bazar and try to be useful to the community when they need it.
