Wintex Gaskets

We are tucked away on Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh, at house number 1901/44. Wintex Gaskets is what the sign says above the door. This area is famous for all sorts of spare parts and tools, and we are just one of many small businesses squeezed into these lanes. Our specialty is gaskets. We have stacks and stacks of them in all different sizes and materials like rubber or cork. The shop is narrow and deep, usually filled with the smell of cut metal and industrial materials. It’s been our home base for a long time. Karol Bagh is always crowded, so getting stuff delivered can be a bit of a nightmare for us. We usually just carry the heavy boxes by hand from the main road if the rickshaws can’t push through the crowd. Most of our days are spent measuring things with calipers or talking to mechanics who need a very specific fit for an engine. It’s precision work but in a very low-key, messy environment. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we use a lot of little desk lamps to see the fine details. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. It’s more of a warehouse that people can walk into. If you need a gasket, you come here, show us the old greasy one, and we find a match. That’s pretty much the whole story of what we do. We keep the books manually and try to stay on top of the stock.
