Wilco Ties Mfg. Company

We have been operating Wilco Ties Mfg. Company from this first-floor spot at 9375/8 in Multani Dhanda for quite some time now. Paharganj is a pretty hectic place to work, but it is where we have always been. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, so we get our exercise every day just coming into work. We mostly just focus on making ties for different people. It’s a lot of sitting at the machines and making sure the fabric is cut right and the seams aren't messy. We aren’t some big factory with hundreds of people. It is just a small group of us here doing the work. The room gets a bit crowded when we have a lot of silk or polyester rolls lying around waiting to be used. Sometimes the noise from the street downstairs in Multani Dhanda is so loud we have to shout a bit to hear each other, but that’s just life in Delhi. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big reception area. It’s just a workspace with tables, thread, and scissors everywhere. We started this because we knew how to sew and wanted to make something useful. It’s not a very complicated business, but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We just try to get the orders finished and sent out so we can start on the next pile of material. It is a simple life and we like the routine.
