Vijay Corner

Vijay Corner sits at 6/30 31 on Ajmal Khan Road, right in the heart of the W E A area of Karol Bagh. Being on a corner means we see a lot of people passing by every single day. The sidewalk is always crowded with shoppers and people just trying to get to the metro station. We have a lot of glass windows because of the corner location, which means we spend a fair amount of time cleaning fingerprints off them. The shop stays quite bright during the day, which is nice. We do not have a lot of fancy furniture, just some basic counters and stools for when our legs get tired. Ajmal Khan Road is never quiet, not even in the early mornings when the vendors are just starting to set up their stalls. We usually get in early to beat the worst of the traffic and get the lights turned on. Sometimes the street noise is so loud we have to raise our voices to be heard, but that is just life in Karol Bagh. We have a small storage room in the back that is always a bit of a mess, no matter how many times we try to organize the boxes. It is a simple way to make a living, watching the world go by from our little spot on the corner. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we all complain about the parking together.
