Vallabh Bhai Patel Chest Institute

You can find us over at Mall Rd Delhi University, specifically in the Maurice Nagar area. It’s a pretty well-known spot because of the university nearby. Being at Vallabh Bhai Patel Chest Institute means we see a lot of people from all over Delhi, not just the students. The building has been here for a long time, and you can kind of tell by the way the hallways look. It’s got that old-school feel to it, which some people like. We don’t put much stock in fancy decorations. We have a lot of equipment for checking lungs and breathing, since that’s what we focus on. Maurice Nagar is usually pretty busy with traffic and people walking to class, so it can be a bit noisy outside. Inside, we try to keep things moving along. Sometimes the wait times are longer than we'd like, but we do what we can with the staff we have. We aren't a big private hospital with a gift shop or anything like that. We are just a public institute on Mall Rd. Most of us have worked here for years and we know the quirks of the building, like which doors stick and where the best breeze is in the summer. It’s a place of work, plain and simple. We take our notes, see the patients, and go home. The stairs can be a lot if you're out of breath, so there's an old lift that most people use. We just keep doing our bit every day.
