Uphar Packers

Uphar Packers is situated at 159 in the Janta Market, near the Jhanewalan Mandir on M.M. Road. This part of Jhandewalan is always busy with people coming to the temple and shoppers in the market. Our shop is small and usually overflowing with packing paper, tape, and boxes of different sizes. It’s hard to move around sometimes without bumping into something. We have been here for years, and the shop hasn't changed much in that time. The shelves are old and slightly bowed from the weight of the supplies we keep on them. We get all kinds of people coming in needing things wrapped or boxed up for shipping. The bells from the mandir can be heard throughout the day, which is a nice backdrop to the work we do. It gets very dusty with all the traffic outside, so we are always wiping down the counters with a rag. We don't have a computer system for everything; we still write down a lot of things in a ledger book. It is a simple operation run by people who know the trade. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment needs to be ready for the morning. It’s just how we do things here in the market. There’s always a roll of brown paper sitting on the counter and the smell of adhesive in the air. We keep at it every day because that is what we know.
