Udit Kunj Foundation

You can find Udit Kunj Foundation over in Meethapur Badarpur. We are on the ground floor of house number 80, right near the Aggarwal Dharamshala. The street is called Wali Gali, and it’s a typical village area in New Delhi where everyone kind of knows what everyone else is doing. Our office is easy to get to because it’s right on the ground level, so no climbing stairs for anyone who comes by. It’s a busy street, often filled with kids playing or people heading to the temple. Inside, the foundation space is pretty modest. We have a few chairs for visitors and a big table where we do most of our planning. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they are covered with calendars and notes instead. It’s a bit dusty because of the road outside, but we don’t mind it much. We spend our days meeting with folks from the neighborhood and trying to sort out local issues. It’s not a fancy operation by any means. We drink a lot of tea and spend a lot of time just talking to people. Working in Meethapur gives us a good look at what’s happening on the ground level. We don't use any complicated systems, just a lot of pens, paper, and face-to-face conversations. It’s a humble setup, but it suits the way we like to work in this community.
