The Shim Tur

The Shim Tur is tucked away in Paharganj, specifically at Tooti Galli in Main Bazaar 3. If you know Paharganj, you know it’s a maze of narrow streets and lots of noise. Our place is part of that. It’s not a quiet, polished lounge. It’s more of a lived-in space where people can get away from the street chaos for a bit. We’ve been here quite a long time. The building is old and has its quirks, like the steep stairs. We don’t have a big fancy sign out front. Most people find us by word of mouth or by wandering down the alley. It’s a simple setup with a few tables and some basic decor. We handle everything ourselves, from taking orders to cleaning up. Paharganj is a unique place and we feel like we fit in. It gets very busy with travelers and locals all mixed together. We don't do any big promotions. We just open the doors and see who shows up. The kitchen is small but it works for what we need. Sometimes we run out of ingredients late at night. It’s just part of how things go here. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. It’s just The Shim Tur in the middle of a busy bazaar. We keep it honest and keep it moving. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes with the old plumbing, but we manage to make it through each day.
