If you ever walk down Ansari Road in Darya Ganj, you know how crowded it gets. There are books piled up everywhere and people rushing around. Our spot is at number 4509 in Trilok Bhawan. It is an old building, the kind with thick walls and narrow hallways that always seem a bit dark. Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd is the name on our board, but inside it just looks like a normal office with lots of files and people talking on their mobiles. Being in New Delhi-110002 means we are right in the middle of everything. You can hear the traffic and the constant horns honking from the street all day long. Sometimes we grab lunch from the small food vendors nearby. The food is always spicy and good. We’ve been in this building for quite some time now. It is not a polished glass tower or anything like that. It is just a practical place where we get our work done. We handle a lot of different things related to phones and networks, mostly helping people sort out their connections. There is always a stack of paperwork on someone’s desk and the printer is usually making some kind of noise. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and then head home in the evening like everyone else in Darya Ganj. It is a busy life but we are used to the noise.
