Suprb Foundation

Our place is at 243 Okhla Industrial Estate, Phase-III. We are up on the first floor. It is a busy industrial area so there is always the sound of trucks and machines nearby. The building itself is quite old and has that concrete feel you get in this part of New Delhi. We have a few rooms filled with desks and some storage boxes in the corner. Most of the time it is just the few of us trying to stay on top of things. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that's usually our break. There isn't a lot of decoration on the walls. We have a couple of calendars and some notes pinned up. Getting here in the morning can be a hassle because of the traffic near the estate entrance. We spend the day mostly on the computers or talking. The windows look out over other factory roofs and some trees. It can get pretty hot in the summer so the coolers stay running all day. We keep the door open to catch whatever breeze there is. It's a practical space for work. We don't have meetings in fancy rooms or anything like that. Just a table and some plastic chairs. It’s where we do our bit every day. Sometimes the water runs out in the afternoon but we manage. It’s just how it is in Okhla. We don't mind the noise much anymore. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished before heading home in the evening.
