Flat No 24 in Shankar Market is where we are. If you know Connaught Place, you know it’s always crowded and a bit noisy. Being in an old market like this has its own feel. The walls are thick, and the hallways are narrow. We’ve been in this flat for a while now. It’s got that old Delhi smell of paper and stone. Our work involves a lot of communicating, which sounds broad, but really it means we’re always on the computer or the landline. We deal with healthcare stuff mostly. It’s a lot of technical terms that we’ve had to learn over the years. Some days the office is quiet, just the sound of typing. Other days, everyone is talking at once and it gets a bit chaotic. We don't have fancy glass partitions. Just some old wooden desks we’ve had since the start. There’s a tea stall downstairs that we use way too much. The guy knows our order by heart now. Living and working in CP means you get used to the tourists and the pigeons. Sometimes a bird flies into the office if we leave the balcony door open too long. We just usher it out and get back to the files. It’s not a shiny corporate office, just a workspace where we get through the daily pile of tasks. We like being in the center of things even if the parking is impossible.
