Our office is tucked away in Shopping Arcade-C at Hotel Connaught Palace. Being near Shivaji Stadium and right in the middle of CP means there is never a quiet moment. Skymark Travels India Pvt Ltd is the name on the door, but inside, it’s just a regular workspace with stacks of papers and ringing phones. The arcade has a specific smell to it, a mix of old stone and floor cleaner. We have been here for a while, navigating the chaos of central Delhi every day. It’s convenient for people to find us since we’re so close to the stadium. We don’t put on airs or try to act like a giant corporation. Most of our time is spent looking at screens and trying to find the best connections for various trips. The office feels a bit lived-in, with coffee mugs on desks and notes scribbled on pads. Sometimes the noise from the street filters in, but we’re used to it. We don’t have a flashy lobby. It’s just a place where work happens. People come in with their questions about travel, and we do what we can to give them a straight answer. It’s a lot of typing and checking dates. The lights in the arcade stay on all day, so you kind of lose track of time. We just keep at it until the day is done. It is a very practical setup for a business in this part of town.
