Shubham Impex is on the 3rd floor of the Punjab & Sindh Bank Building in Naya Bazar. We are in Room Number 205. The address is 2612-13. Naya Bazar is always full of trucks and people carrying heavy sacks. It is the heart of the grain trade here. Getting up to the 3rd floor is a bit of a climb, especially when the weather is humid. The building has been around for decades. Our office is just a place where we sit and handle the trade business. We don't have anything polished or corporate looking. The desks are old and the chairs squeak a little. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to people who walk in with bills of lading. It is a very hands-on job. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just have a calendar and some photos of our families. The view from the window is mostly other rooftops and the busy street below. Sometimes the noise from the bank downstairs or the market outside makes it hard to hear, but we’ve gotten used to it. We keep things simple and honest. We do our own filing and handle our own tea. It is a small operation, and we like it that way because we know exactly what is happening with every order. When the market closes, the building gets quiet, and that’s usually when we finish up our paperwork for the day.
