Shakambhari Foundation

Our foundation is located in Laxmi Park, which is in the Nangloi area of West Delhi. The address is C-5, KH 62/12. It is a typical neighborhood spot, not one of those big glass buildings you see in the city center. We are right in the middle of the local life here, which is exactly where we need to be. The space is a bit cramped sometimes when everyone shows up at once, but we make it work. Most of us live nearby, so we know the area and the people pretty well. It’s not a polished operation by any means. We have some old furniture and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that isn't really our priority right now. We spend our days handling whatever comes through the door. Some days it is quiet and we just catch up on things, other days it’s a bit chaotic with everyone talking at once. We don't really have a grand plan or a fancy statement written on the wall. We just show up, see what needs doing, and try to get it sorted before we head home for dinner. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Nangloi can be a bit dusty and the roads are always under repair, but we like it here. It feels like home to us and the people around here are mostly friendly. It’s a very basic and real way of working.
