Our place is tucked away at A-799/14 B in the Shidhipura area of Karol Bagh. If you know these lanes, you know they are narrow and always crowded with people and carts. We have been doing our work here for many years. Most of the time, the shop is filled with the smell of fresh ink and stacks of paper reaching the ceiling. It is a bit of a tight squeeze to move around when we have a lot of calendars being finished. We have an old desk where we keep the ledger and a few chairs for when people come to talk about their orders. It isn't a modern office by any stretch of the imagination. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the ceiling fan wobbles a bit on high speed. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so there is always a lot of talk about paper prices and machine parts. The tea stall at the corner is where we get our morning and afternoon chai. We don't have a website or do any social media stuff. We just rely on the people who have been coming to us for decades. It gets very hot in the summer, but the thick walls keep it somewhat bearable inside. Dealing with paper means everything has to stay dry, so we spend the monsoon moving stacks.
