Sachdeva Store

Our shop, Sachdeva Store, is located at C-29 in Majnu Ka Tila, right near the Civil Line area. It’s a pretty standard local store. We sell the things people need every day like bread, eggs, and snacks. The shelves are packed pretty tight because we try to keep a bit of everything in stock. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. We know most of the faces around here because they’ve been coming to us for years. Majnu Ka Tila is a unique spot with its narrow lanes and lots of people walking around. We open early in the morning before the sun gets too high. There’s a lot of lifting heavy bags of rice or stacking soda bottles. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the crates. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes we run out of something and have to tell the customer to come back tomorrow. It’s just how a neighborhood store works. The bell on the door rings all day long. We don’t do anything fancy, just sell groceries and chat with the neighbors about the weather or the local news. It’s a quiet life behind the counter. We keep the ledger updated by hand mostly. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we shut the shutters at night.
