S3a Impex Pvt. Ltd. is based at A- 51 Parwana Apartment. Working out of an apartment means we have a pretty quiet environment compared to the big industrial parks. It’s mostly office work here. We handle the import and export side of things, dealing with the logistics and the heavy paperwork. The living room has basically become the main workspace. We have computers set up and shelves full of folders. It’s a small operation, just a few of us. We spend our days tracking shipments and talking to suppliers on the phone. Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded by paper. We don’t have a shop front, so we don’t get many walk-in visitors. Most of our business is done through emails and long-distance calls. We like it this way because we can really focus. The building is older but it’s sturdy and in a good location. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear casual clothes and drink coffee while we figure out the shipping schedules. Sometimes the internet acts up and we have to wait, but usually, things run okay. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know the ropes. It’s a steady business and we just keep at it day by day. There is always something new to learn in this trade as we go along.
