S M S Travel Assurance is tucked away on School Lane, just off Barakhamba Road near CP. It’s a bit quieter here than the main circle, which we like. We’ve been at number 6 for some time now. We help people with their travel plans and making sure everything is insured and safe. It’s mostly paperwork and staying on the phone with various offices. Travel can be a mess sometimes, so we try to straighten things out for people who come to us. The office is pretty basic. We have some old maps on the wall and a lot of binders full of forms. It’s not a luxury lounge, just a place where we work. We see all kinds of people coming through the door, some going on holiday and others moving for work. We just listen to what they need and try to find a solution that fits. Being near Barakhamba Road means the metro is close, so getting here isn't too bad for our staff. We usually have a pot of tea going. It gets busy during the summer months when everyone wants to go away. We don't promise the world, we just do the job honestly. Sometimes things go wrong with flights or bookings, and we just work through it until it's fixed. It’s a living.
