S. K. M. Impex India

S. K. M. Impex India is run out of No. 821 in Krishi Appartment. It’s a bit different than being in a big commercial warehouse or a crowded market street, but it works well for us. Since we are based in an apartment complex, things are a lot quieter than they would be in the main city markets. We use the space mainly for the administrative and planning side of our import-export business. There’s a lot of coordination involved in this industry, and having a quiet place to handle the long phone calls and the endless emails is actually pretty helpful for staying focused. We don't have a big staff working here, just a few people keeping the records straight and talking to our various suppliers. Our desks are usually covered in ledger books, calendars, and printouts of shipping manifests. We don’t really have visitors stopping by often, but if someone does come, they usually just find us working through the day’s tasks in a very casual environment. It’s a very low-key way to operate. We don’t have any big corporate mission statements or promotional posters on the walls. We just try to make sure that whatever we are importing or exporting gets to where it needs to go without too much trouble from the authorities or transport companies. Sometimes the logistics can be a real headache, but we’ve been doing this long enough to know how to handle the ropes. It is just steady, daily work for us.
