Retired Officer From Army

I have been living at 4C/6 in Rajender Nagar since I finished my time with the Army. New Delhi is a busy place but this little corner feels like home to me. I still carry myself like I’m on duty sometimes because you can’t really switch that off after so many years. My routine is quite fixed even though I don't have to be anywhere. I go for my morning walk and then I spend time at my desk looking over old photos and documents. People in the neighborhood know I was in the service so they show a lot of respect which is kind of them. I don't like to make a big deal out of it though. I’m just a guy who served his time and now wants to enjoy some peace and quiet. My house isn't fancy but it is kept very neat and tidy. I like things to be in their proper place. Sometimes I meet up with other retired officers for tea and we talk about the old days and how much the country has changed. It's a simple life now without the uniforms and the strict orders. I manage my own affairs and try to stay healthy. Rajender Nagar has everything I need within walking distance so I don't have to go far. It is a good place to be after all that travel and different postings. Life is slower now and I am perfectly fine with that.
