Rajiv Motorcycles

Rajiv Motorcycles is located in Hauz Qazi at 3623, Chawri Bazar. If you have ever been to Chawri Bazar, you know how packed and loud it is. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. There is always the sound of engines and people talking. We have bikes parked out front and parts scattered all over the inside. The floor is stained with oil, which is pretty much expected in a place like this. We spend our days with grease on our hands, tightening bolts and looking at engines. Because it is a narrow space, we have to be smart about where we put the tools. Sometimes it feels like the whole city is passing by our door. The air usually smells like fuel and old metal. We have been in Hauz Qazi for a while, and we are used to the rhythm of the market. It gets very busy in the afternoons. No fancy signs or waiting rooms are found here. People just stand around or sit on a bench while we look at their machines. We have a small radio that plays mostly static, but it keeps us company during the long hours. It is a simple life of fixing what needs fixing and making sure the bikes are back on the road. We stay open until late, often finishing up under the glow of a few bare bulbs hanging from the ceiling. It is just what we do every day without fail.
