Prashant Smoking Crafts

Our workshop, Prashant Smoking Crafts, is located out near Sultanpuri Road in Putkalan. Being right near the oil depot means there is always a lot of heavy truck movement around us. We have been at A-123 for a long time now. The air usually smells a bit like wood shavings and whatever materials we are using that day. It is a practical sort of place, not much to look at from the outside, but it is where all the actual work happens. We spend a lot of time sitting at our benches, carving and shaping things by hand. It takes a lot of patience to get the details right, and sometimes a piece just breaks at the last minute, which can be frustrating. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It is just a few of us who know the craft well enough to do it every day without needing much direction. The floors are usually covered in sawdust by noon, no matter how much we sweep. We usually take our tea breaks outside on the step just to get away from the noise of the tools for a few minutes. It is a quiet life in a loud neighborhood. We don't really worry about making everything look perfect for visitors because most people who come here are just looking to pick up their orders or talk shop for a bit. There is always a stray cat hanging around the door.
