If you come to Kasturba Gandhi Marg, you will find us on the 9th floor of Antriksh Bhawan. It’s a tall building and the view from up here is actually pretty good, though we don’t spend much time looking out the window. We are busy with the business of housing finance. Most of our work involves looking over applications and helping people figure out how they can afford to buy their own homes. It’s a lot of numbers and paperwork, and sometimes the rules can be a bit confusing for folks, so we try to explain things in a way that makes sense. We’ve got a decent-sized team here, and it can get quite loud with all the phones and people chatting. We aren’t trying to be a cold, distant bank. We’re just regular people working in an office. We deal with all kinds of situations, from young couples buying their first flat to families looking to move into something bigger. The lift in this building can be a bit slow during the lunch hour, which is always a bit of a struggle for us. We’ve been at this location for a while, and it feels like a second home to many of us. We just keep plugging away at the files, trying to get people moved into their new places as quickly as the process allows. It’s hard work but seeing someone finally get their keys makes it feel worthwhile.
