About Pawsome Animal Welfare Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Central Delhi
We started the Pawsome Animal Welfare Foundation here in Chhawla village because there were so many stray dogs and cats needing help. My house is number 506, right near pole 958. It’s a quiet spot usually. We just spend our days looking after the animals that wander in or get brought to us by neighbors. Sometimes it gets loud with the barking, but the people around here are mostly used to it by now. It isn't a fancy setup. We have some basic pens and some food stored in the back room. The weather in Delhi gets really hot, so keeping the water bowls full is a full-time job. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us who care about the local strays. It's hard work and the floor is usually covered in paw prints. People know where to find us if they see an injured bird or a hungry puppy near the main road. We’ve been at this for a while now. Sometimes we run out of space, but we try to manage. It's just what we do every day. There’s always someone needing a meal or a bit of medicine. It’s not always easy to keep things organized with so much going on. We are just trying to do our bit for the animals in this part of South West Delhi. It’s a busy life but it feels right to be doing it from home.
