Patanjali

Patanjali is our shop in New Rajinder Nagar at 11-A/10. We carry all the usual things you would expect to find, like herbal soaps, toothpastes, and different kinds of grains and honey. It’s a busy little place because Rajinder Nagar has a lot of people who are very careful about what they eat and use in their homes. We spend most of our morning unpacking crates and making sure the shelves are full before the first customers arrive. It is not a huge supermarket with shiny floors. It is more of a neighborhood store where things are stacked a bit high and we know where everything is even if it looks a bit crowded to someone else. We have a lot of regular customers who come in every week for their cooking oil or their health supplements. We talk to them about what’s new or what’s out of stock while we ring up their items. The area around 11-A/10 is mostly residential, so it stays fairly quiet until the evening when everyone gets back from work. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here and that we have the stuff they need for their daily routines. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, just keeping the shop tidy and helping people find their favorite products. We’ve been here for a while and plan to stay for much longer.
