Pankaj Traders (Bhagwan Das Chawal Wala)

Pankaj Traders, or as many people around here call us, Bhagwan Das Chawal Wala, is located in the Old Subzi Mandi. We are right near the church, which makes us pretty easy to spot. The market is an old part of the city, and it has a lot of history. We have been selling rice and other grains in this same spot for a very long time. It is a traditional kind of business. The shop is filled with large sacks of different varieties of rice. You can smell the grain as soon as you walk in. The Old Subzi Mandi is always busy, especially in the early mornings when the fresh produce arrives. It is a noisy, lively place to work. We spend our days measuring out portions and talking to the regulars who have been coming to us for years. My grandfather started this, and we have just kept it going. We don't have fancy branding or a modern office. It is just a straightforward shop where we do honest work. Sometimes the rain makes the market streets a bit muddy, but the customers still come through anyway. We know our rice well and can tell you which one is better for what dish without having to look at a manual. It is just a local business doing what it has always done for the people here.
