Orient Ceramics & Industries Ltd.

Down here at 1899 Paharganj, things never really slow down. If you know New Delhi at all, you know this area is a maze of people and vehicles. Orient Ceramics & Industries Ltd. has been based here for a while, and we’ve seen the streets change quite a bit. Even though the address says New Delhi Haryana, it’s just the same busy sprawl to us. Our building is old and has a lot of character, though the stairs creak every time someone walks up them. We handle a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to organizing tile shipments across the region. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things get messy. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; usually, you just walk in and find one of us buried under a pile of invoices. The walls are covered in old calendars and maps of the city. We drink a lot of chai to keep our energy up during the long shifts. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes when three trucks arrive at once and the street is already blocked by a rickshaw. But we manage to get it done somehow. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. The focus is just on the work and making sure the ceramics get out the door. It’s loud, it’s busy, and it’s definitely not a corporate showroom, but it’s where we do our work.
