We are up on the 4th floor of the Indra Prakash Building, right there on Barakhamba Road. It’s a busy part of town, always plenty of noise from the street coming up even that high. At Orbetee Textile Pvt. Ltd., the office is filled with samples. You’ll find bits of cloth and thread everywhere. It’s not a showroom, just where we do the daily work. Sometimes the elevator in the building takes forever, so we end up taking the stairs. That’s a workout. The space is a bit tight with all the files and the desks crammed in, but we make it work. We spend our days talking to suppliers and checking on shipments. Barakhamba Road is always bustling, and sometimes we just look out the window at the traffic for a minute before getting back to the ledgers. We don't have a big team, just enough people to keep the textiles moving. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing things, maybe. We still use a lot of paper and keep physical records of most things. It’s reliable. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we know where everything is. After all these years in the Indra Prakash Building, the place feels like home, even with the crowded desks and the constant ringing of the phones. We just keep our heads down and get the textile orders processed as they come in. It’s a steady kind of life in the city center.
