Optima Watches

Operating out of A 71 in the Flatted Factory Complex at Jhandewalan is quite different from having a regular shop on the main street. It is an industrial area, so there are always heavy trucks moving around and the constant sound of machines in the background. We focus on watches in this space. Most of the day involves sitting at workbenches under bright lamps and looking at very small parts through lenses. The workspace is usually a bit cluttered with various tools, magnifying glasses, and those tiny screws that seem to disappear if you accidentally drop them on the floor. We do not get many random people walking in because we are located inside the factory complex. Most people who come to see us are looking for something very specific or were told to come here by someone else. It is a steady and quiet pace of work. We are not trying to be some luxury watch boutique. This is more of a workshop where things actually get handled and repaired. The walls are a bit dusty and the floor has definitely seen better days, but that does not matter for the kind of work we do here. We drink a lot of tea while we work and usually have the radio playing in the background to keep us company. Jhandewalan is a busy hub for making things, and being here feels right for the business.
