Narula Electricals

You can find Narula Electricals over in Patel Nagar at 13/2. It’s a local shop, nothing more and nothing less. We stock the kind of things people need for their homes—wires, switches, light bulbs, and the occasional ceiling fan. I’ve spent more time in this shop than I have in my own living room, I think. The shelves are packed tight because the space isn't huge, and I like to have what people are looking for right then and there. It’s a lot of talking to neighbors and helping someone figure out why their fuse keeps blowing. Patel Nagar is a busy place, and 13/2 is right in the thick of it. You get people walking in all day, from contractors needing a bulk order of PVC pipes to a grandmother needing a single bulb for her kitchen. I don't use a computer for much; I prefer writing things down in my notebook. It’s easier that way. The shop has a certain smell—plastic, copper, and a bit of dust. It’s the smell of work. I don't bother with fancy displays or trying to look like a big retail chain. I just put the stock out where people can see it. If I don't have something, I usually know who in the area does. We open up pretty early to catch the electricians before they head to their job sites. It’s just how we do things here, keeping it simple and focusing on the parts that people actually need.
