Nanhi Pahal Foundation

You can find us over at Bhagwati Garden Extension in Uttam Nagar. We are on the third floor of Plot Number 68, in a private space marked as 401. It’s a bit of a walk up, but it gives us a good view of what's happening on the street. Nanhi Pahal Foundation is just a small group of locals. We don't have any big donors or a fancy office with leather chairs. It’s just a plain room where we keep our stuff. We mostly focus on the families living right here in the extension. Sometimes we help kids with their books, and other times we are just helping an older person get to their doctor's appointment. It’s all very hands-on. We don't have a formal way of working. If we see a problem, we just try to fix it. The building can be a bit loud and the hallways are sometimes cluttered, but that’s just how it is in Uttam Nagar. We don't try to hide that. We aren't professionals; we are just people who care about where we live. Most of our day is spent talking to the neighbors and seeing what’s bothering them. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just do the work that needs doing. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. If you need us, you know where the third floor is.
