Working at the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises means there is never a quiet day. People come from all over the country with their folders and their dreams of starting something. The hallways are long and have that specific smell of old paper and tea that you only get in government buildings. We spend our time going through applications and trying to figure out how to help the small shop owners and the new entrepreneurs. It isn't a fast-paced tech startup environment. It is more about following the steps and making sure everything is done by the book. You see a lot of people sitting in the waiting areas, and we try to get through the work as steadily as we can. Outside, Rafi Marg is always busy with cars and people going to various government offices. We take our breaks in the canteen and talk about the latest policies or just the weather. It is a lot of responsibility because the small businesses are the ones who really keep the country moving. We do not have any fancy slogans on the walls. We just have a lot of desks, a lot of files, and a lot of work to do every single morning.
