Number 72 in the Shahzada Bagh Industrial Area is where you will find us. As you might expect from an industrial zone, it is not the prettiest place to work. Factories and warehouses are all around the building, and the air usually smells like oil and exhaust from all the machinery. Our office is tucked into a larger structure where we manage the details of importing and exporting. Because it is a noisy neighborhood, trucks are constantly loading and unloading right outside our door. We use a big wooden desk to spread out all the shipping documents and maps we need for the day. Most of our hours are spent on the phone, coordinating with transport companies to ensure nothing gets lost in transit. The furniture is sturdy and practical, mostly because it has to handle quite a bit of dust. Since we don't get many visitors in this part of town, we just focus on the tasks we have to finish. Shahzada Bagh is really a place where people come to work hard, and we are just the same as everyone else here. Starting early in the morning helps us beat the worst of the heat and the heavy traffic. By the afternoon, the entire street is buzzing with activity and loud engines. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea or warm up our lunch boxes. Running a business this way is very grounded. No big words or corporate talk happen here. We just make sure containers are booked correctly.
