Malhotra Rexine Store

You can find Malhotra Rexine Store at Shop No 10875 on Jhandewalan Road. We are in the Nabi Karim area, quite close to the Shankar Piau. That water station is a busy spot where people are always stopping to drink. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We deal mostly in rexine, so the shop has that distinct smell of synthetic material and rolls of fabric. It’s a heavy business. Moving the big rolls of rexine takes a bit of muscle and we are often found dragging them across the floor to show a customer. The walls of the shop are basically covered from floor to ceiling with different colors and textures. It is a bit dark inside because the shop is deep, but we have some bright lights to help see the patterns. Jhandewalan Road is never really quiet. There are trucks and rickshaws and people carrying loads all day long. We’ve been part of this street for a long time. The pavement outside is always dusty from the traffic. We keep a small desk at the front where we do the accounts and talk to whoever walks in. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have any fancy displays or air conditioning. We just have a fan that hums all day and a lot of work to get through before we close the shutters for the night.
