Lic Of India

We are based in the LIC Quarters, specifically No. A/3, 9, in the Daryaganj area of New Delhi. Being in Daryaganj means we are right in the heart of the old city. It is always noisy outside with the traffic and the markets, but inside the quarters, it is a bit more managed. This is where I live and work, so the line between the two gets a bit blurry sometimes. My desk is usually covered in folders and policy papers. Daryaganj is famous for its Sunday book market, and the whole vibe of the place is very traditional. The building itself is old, with those thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the Delhi summers. I spend my days meeting with neighbors or people who travel into the city to talk about their insurance. It is a very hands-on way of doing things. I do not have a big staff, it is just me handling the inquiries and the paperwork. Sometimes I have to head out to the main branch, but mostly I am right here. The winters in Delhi are cold, so I do a lot of my work with a shawl over my shoulders. It is just a normal life, really. I have been part of the LIC family for years, and staying in these quarters makes it easy to stay connected to the work.
