If you are walking down Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh, you might miss 1893/44 if you aren't looking closely. That is where Khaneja Auto Parts is located. The shelves in here go all the way to the ceiling and they are absolutely packed with boxes of every size you can imagine. Everything has a thin layer of grey dust on it, even if we try to clean it once a week. We have a pretty good memory for where everything is kept. You can ask for a specific bolt or a piston for an old engine, and we can usually dig it out in a few minutes. The street outside is famous for car parts, so there is always a huge crowd and lots of noise. It involves a lot of talking and people trying to get a better price on things. I took over this spot from my father, and now I am here almost every single day. We have a small TV in the corner that is usually on the news, but mostly it is just there for some background sound. My stool has been wobbly for a long time now, but I never seem to find the time to fix it. We get a lot of mechanics coming in who are always in a big hurry to get back to their garages. It keeps us busy from morning until late at night. At the end of the day, our hands are always greasy, but that is just the business.
