Our office is right in the middle of the bazar, number 1511 on Gali Arya Samaj. If you know Sita Ram, you know how crowded it gets around here. It is one of those old parts of North Delhi where the streets are narrow and everything is always moving. We have been working out of this space for some time now. It is not a very big room, just enough for a table and some stools. Most of the day we are just dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s a neighbor with a question, other times it’s just us trying to organize the next week’s activities. The noise from the market outside is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who live nearby and care about the area. The building is quite old, so the walls have some cracks and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound when it’s on high. We keep a stack of papers on the corner desk that never seems to get smaller. It’s hard work and it gets very hot in the summer, but it feels right to be here in the heart of the city. We don’t do things in a very formal way, we just talk to people and see what can be done. It’s a simple setup for simple work.
