Kalu Baba General Store

Kalu Baba General Store is just a small corner shop here in Wazirabad. We are located at 280/17, right near the Shiv Mandir. Most of the people who come here are our neighbors who have lived in the area as long as I have. It is not a big supermarket or anything, just a room filled with sacks of flour, some lentils, and snacks for the kids. I have been here every single day for years. The shop is small so things are a bit cramped, but I know where every single item is kept. When the temple has a festival, it gets really busy around here and we stay open longer. I don’t use any big machines to track things. I just remember what is in stock. If someone needs a specific spice or a notebook for school, they just ask. The floor is concrete and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. Life in Wazirabad moves at its own pace and my shop is a part of that. I usually drink my tea in the mornings while waiting for the first customer. It is a quiet existence but I like it. You get to know everyone's name and what they like to buy. No one comes here expecting anything fancy, just the items they need for their house. It’s a simple life running a general store in this part of town.
