If you are looking for K. L. Bhatia, we are at 2590, Chuna Mandi, right in the middle of Paharganj. If you know this part of Delhi, you know it is always crowded and moving. Chuna Mandi has its own pace, and being at number 2590 means we are right in the thick of it. The streets are narrow, and there is a constant sound of rickshaws and people shouting. We’ve been operating out of this small space for a long time. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a lot of stock, but we make it work. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but that’s just Paharganj for you. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is mostly just shelves and some space to sit and talk to customers. A lot of our day is spent dealing with the logistics of getting things in and out through these tight lanes. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit and wait or work by the light from the door. It’s not a polished corporate office, and we don't pretend it is. We wear regular clothes, drink a lot of chai, and handle the business as it comes. Most of our neighbors are doing the same thing, so there is a nice sense of community in the Mandi. We just stay focused on our daily tasks and keep things moving.
