Jinnie Gaskets & Spares is located right in the middle of Karol Bagh on Hari Singh Nalwa Street. If you know the area, you know how 43/1928 can be hard to find if you aren't looking closely at the building numbers. We spend most of our days surrounded by boxes of gaskets and various spare parts for different machines. It isn't a clean job by any means. There is always a bit of grease on the tables and the smell of rubber hangs in the air, especially during the humid months. People come in looking for very specific sizes and sometimes they bring the old, broken part with them to make sure they get a match. We spend a lot of time measuring things with calipers and looking through old catalogs that have seen better days. The street outside is always jammed with rickshaws and delivery vans, so there is a constant background of honking. Sometimes we sit on small stools near the entrance just to get a bit of a breeze. We have been in this spot for a long time and the walls show it. Most of the customers are mechanics or people trying to fix their own equipment. We just keep the inventory organized the best we can so we don't lose track of the smaller rings and seals. It is steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening, just like every other shop on this busy street.
