Our shop is 9068, located in Gali Number 2 in Pahar Ganj. It is right across from the Maurya Hotel. Pahar Ganj is always crowded, and our street is no different. We deal in glass. All kinds of it. People come here when they need a window replaced or maybe a mirror for their bathroom. We have been here for years. The shop is small, and it is packed with crates and sheets of glass. You have to be careful where you step. We spend our days cutting glass to size and loading it onto rickshaws or small trucks. It is heavy work and you have to be precise. If you mess up a cut by even a few millimeters, the whole piece is wasted. We do not have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for customers. Most of the people who come in are local builders or shopkeepers from the nearby markets. We know the area like the back of our hand. It is noisy and dusty outside, but inside we just focus on the glass. Sometimes we do decorative work, but mostly it is just plain, clear glass for everyday use. We are not fancy people. We just sell glass and try to make sure it does not break before it gets to where it is going. Our family has been doing this for a long time, and we just keep it going one day at a time.
