Jagdamba Automotive

Our place, Jagdamba Automotive, sits at 1561/30 on Hari Singh Nalwa Street. It’s a narrow street, and sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck, which causes a whole mess of shouting outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but not by much. We’ve got parts for almost everything tucked away in the corners. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re sorting through bins of bolts and metal pieces. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local shop. The building is old, and the stairs to the storage area are a bit steep and creaky. We probably spend half our day just going up and down those steps. There is a small window in the back that lets in a little bit of light, but mostly we rely on the overhead tubes that hum. My cousin helps out when it gets really busy, usually on Mondays. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the slow afternoons when the heat makes everyone sluggish. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open the shop, talk to the customers, and try to find what they need. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Karol Bagh is a tough place to work sometimes because of the noise, but we wouldn’t really want to be anywhere else right now.
