Gaurav Book Centre is one of those places you might miss if you aren't looking closely. We are tucked away at 4832/24, S-207 in Prahled Lane. Being in Darya Ganj means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around with carts of books. It’s a crowded spot. Our shop is simple. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling and sometimes books are just piled on the floor. It’s not fancy. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. My nephew helps me out with the heavy lifting and keeping track of the inventory. We spend most of our day dealing with orders and talking to people who come in from nearby 24 Ansari Road. The summer heat in Delhi makes the shop quite stuffy but we have a couple of fans that keep things moving. We don't have a big website or anything like that. People mostly know us because they’ve been coming here for a long time or they heard about us from another shopkeeper. Sometimes we run out of space and have to move things around just to let a customer walk in. It’s a bit of a mess but we know where everything is. We just focus on getting the books to whoever needs them. It’s a plain, honest business in an old part of the city.
