Our office is tucked away in the Neeti Bagh 3 Community Shopping Center. It is a well-known little spot in the middle of the neighborhood. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or a receptionist at a glass desk. The Foundation For Development Of Rural Value Chains just operates out of a regular room in the shopping center. It feels more like a local corner shop than a big foundation office. We are surrounded by other small businesses like a dry cleaner and a chemist. The shopping center has its own daily rhythm and we are just a small part of that. We spend our time here at Neeti Bagh doing the regular work that needs to be done on the computer and over the phone. The desks are a bit old and have some scratches on them, and we have a lot of paperwork piled up on the side tables. It is easy for people to find us since we are in a public shopping center area. The parking can be a bit of a headache in the afternoons but that is just how Delhi is. We have a small window that looks out onto the main courtyard where people walk by. It’s not a fancy place by any means but it is where we are every day. We keep the kettle ready for when we need a tea break. It’s just a practical workspace for the team.
