Ficci, Federation House

Federation House is one of those old buildings on Tansen Marg that everyone seems to recognize. We spend a lot of time in these halls at Ficci, and it definitely feels like a place with a lot of history behind it. There are always people coming in and out for meetings or just to drop off papers. It’s not the quietest place to work because there’s usually something going on in the main rooms, but we’ve gotten used to the hum of the building. We handle a lot of the day-to-day stuff that keeps the federation moving along. It’s a lot of paperwork, phone calls, and making sure the schedules don't fall apart. Being on Tansen Marg means we’re right in the thick of Delhi life. You can hear the city outside the windows all day. We aren't trying to be something we're not; we’re just the staff that keeps the lights on and the records straight. Sometimes the elevators are slow, and the coffee isn’t the best, but we like being here. It feels like we’re part of the furniture almost. We don't do much flashy stuff, just the practical work that needs doing every Monday through Friday. It’s a steady kind of job in a very solid, old-fashioned building. Most of us have been here long enough that the security guards know our names and we know theirs as well. It is just a part of the daily routine for us.
