Our office for Ekalavya Rural Transformation And Livelihoods Support Foundation is in Dwarka. Specifically, we are in Flat No. 1069 at Rajnigandha Apartments in Sector-10. It’s a residential area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets. We use one of the flats as our main hub. It’s got a kitchen where we make way too much coffee and a living room that’s now filled with tables and computers. We focus on rural issues and helping people find ways to make a living, even though we are based here in the city. It means we spend a lot of time traveling back and forth. When we are in the office, we are usually planning the next trip or writing up reports about what we saw in the field. The apartment complex is nice, and the neighbors are mostly used to people coming and going from our unit by now. It doesn't feel like a typical office at all. It feels more like a home that turned into a workspace over time. We don’t have a receptionist; whoever is closest to the door just opens it. We started this foundation because we wanted to see some real changes in the places we care about. It’s hard work and the progress is often slow, but we just keep at it day by day. We are just a small team trying our best with what we have. Sometimes the printer jams, but we keep moving along.
