Dsi Group is based in a basement at Malviya Nagar, 80/34 Canning Road. Working in a basement has its ups and downs. It stays cooler in the summer, which is a big plus around here. On the other hand, we don't get to see what the weather is doing unless someone goes upstairs. The office is basically one big room with desks pushed against the walls. We have a lot of cables and computers running all the time. It’s a functional space, nothing more. We don't have a sign that glows or anything like that. You just come down the stairs and there we are. We have been at this Canning Road location for several years. Most of our day is spent staring at screens or talking to each other about current tasks. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone knocks, one of us just gets up to answer. We usually order in food when we are busy, and the local delivery guys know exactly where the basement entrance is. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. We don't have big meetings about goals or visions. We just look at the work that came in and figure out how to finish it before the day ends. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes, but we like the quiet down here. It lets us get through the pile of work without too many distractions from the street noise outside.
