Digital Cam Zone

If you’ve ever been down into Palika Bazar in CP, you know how crowded it gets. Digital Cam Zone is right there in the middle of it, at M-8 Central Hall on the mezzanine floor. It’s a small shop, like most places in Palika, but we pack a lot into it. We spend our days surrounded by lenses, camera bodies, and tripods. It’s a bit of a maze getting to us, but once you’re here, it’s a bit quieter than the main corridors. We’ve seen all sorts of photographers come through, from kids buying their first small camera to older folks looking for parts for their film gear. The lighting in the bazaar isn't the best, so we’re always squinting at small parts under a desk lamp. We don't do big sales pitches. Usually, we just show people how the buttons work and let them try it out. Being in the heart of Delhi means we meet people from everywhere. It’s a lot of work keeping up with all the new models coming out, but we do our best to stay informed. The shop is a bit cramped, and we usually have boxes stacked up in the corners, but it works for us. We aren't some fancy showroom in a mall. We’re just a camera shop in a basement trying to help people take better pictures. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a small fan that helps.
