Detergent India

If you ever find yourself near Kikar Wala Chowk in Karol Bagh, you’ve probably walked right past us. We are at 5407, on Arya Samaj Road. It’s a crowded area, even for Delhi standards. There is always someone shouting, a horn honking, or people rushing by the shop. Detergent India is tucked into this busy corner where we handle all sorts of cleaning stuff. The shop is filled with bags and boxes of powder and big cans of liquids. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand for the walk-in customers. The floor usually has a thin layer of white dust from the soap powders, no matter how much we sweep. It just comes with the territory. We’ve been at this Karol Bagh location for quite a few years. Most of our neighbors know us by name. We don’t have a website that’s updated or anything fancy. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to come by. Sometimes we are out back mixing things or loading up a small rickshaw for a delivery down the street. It’s a loud, dusty, and fast-paced way to spend the day. We don't really have a big sales pitch. We just sell the detergent and try to keep up with the daily chaos of the market. It is a simple life in a very busy neighborhood.
