Design Plus

You can find us up in Padma Tower 1, in rooms 703 and 704. Rajendra Place is a busy hub in New Delhi, and being on the seventh floor gives us a bit of a view of the chaos below. Design Plus has been operating out of this spot for years. It’s a typical Delhi office building where the elevators are always slow and there’s always someone moving furniture or boxes in the hallway. We spend our time working on designs, mostly sitting at our computers or spreading out large sheets of paper on the big table in the middle of the room. The air conditioning is our best friend during those long Delhi summers. We aren't a big corporate firm with a lot of layers. It’s just us here, trying to get the drawings right and making sure the measurements add up. Sometimes the office gets a bit cluttered with material samples and old folders, but we know where everything is. We grab tea from the same guy downstairs every afternoon. It’s a routine that works for us. Working in Rajendra Place means we are close to a lot of other businesses, so there’s always people coming and going. We don’t do anything too fancy, just honest design work that people can actually use for their buildings. It’s a lot of long hours and staring at screens, but we like the challenge of fitting everything into a plan. It’s just a regular workday for us here in the city.
